In Alaska's heated United States Senate race, Republican candidate Dan Sullivan has shot forward six points this week to take the lead from Democrat and incumbent Senator Mark Begich, according to the newest poll released Tuesday by Public Policy Polling
The poll surveyed 880 voters and found that Begich had fallen two points from an August poll. Sullivan leads Begich 43 percent to 41 percent, although the numbers are within the margin of error, according to this Newsminer article.
This shift follows a key vote by Begich to strike down legislation that would have blocked President Obama from offering amnesty for illegal immigrants.
